Mr. Moore, please either bring the Madden and NHL franchises back to the PC (and not some watered down browser version) or resign. It's not the PC gaming market that's dying - it's EA Sports' PC division that is. You can't just keep releasing a sub-par product and then blame the market. So please, just go away and let someone who knows what they're doing take over.

I'm willing to lay off on the cricket issue for a while now cause Codemasters have announced 'Ashes Cricket 2009', set to be released next month, just before the start of the Ashes. Thank goodness there's some people out there realising that cricket will become hugely popular during this English summer and therefore the time is right to release a cricket game. It's going to be PS3, 360 and PC with a Wii version releasing a little later in the year... I can't wait!

EA Cricket I would still prefer but this will do me nicely for now!

This is what I've learned through my dealings with EA and EA customer service/support.

EA does not care about their customers that aren't asking about Madden!!

EA does not care about customers that play on anything that isn't a 360 or PS3!

EA just doesn't care!

Don't waste time asking questions. Don't waste time in the forums. Don't waste time in line at the game store or online purchasing an EA product. You will be happier giving your business and hard earned money to a game company that cares. Trust me on this one.

We've been playing Where's Moore here so now we have found him.

The next update will not address Cricket or the PC issue. That is my prediction.

Sadly, it will probably talk about how many games Liverpool has played or how many they have practiced.

I am trying to decide between Tiger Woods for the 360 or Tiger for the PC so it would be nice to have some information to make a decision. Some information before the launch of the game would be amazing.

The secret is already out of the bag. Start talking about how this new platform is going to work.

I can save EA a lot of money. Fire the idiot that came up with these rules for when employees can talk about things. I know that person is overpaid because I wouldn't pay a penny for what they have done.

Peter must be auditioning for the new Karate Kid movie. They are bound to be making one. Hollywood seems to have a habit of cr@ping on old movie ideas.

Peter wont get an award for time keeping! Does he even read the comments made? I wonder..... anyway, lets get on with it. 4 march 2008 Peter Moore CEO EA Sports said that we should keep an eye out for Cricket and Rugby on the gen consoles, during a ps3 magazine interview. WELL PETER its a year later what is soon in your books?? If EA has not realised the growth that rugby has shown in recent years and the rediculous amount of gamers through out europe and the Sanzar unions who are going crazy with suspense just to hear ANYTHING regarding the rugby game (even Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon did a Hollywood movie about rugby), then EA simply dont deserve the right to even mention the word rugby! I understand that rugby wont reach the sales figures of Fifa, Madden, Tiger Woods or other american sports do, but you cant tell the rugby public that a game is coming soon and then leave us hanging for a year. I mean a 09 and 10 range was launched for all major sports except rugby. Just to add, and I hope you read this Mr. Moore, that rugby 08 was a total failure in regards to research and updates on players and player stats. What will it take to say yes we are working on rugby and you can expect it around june 09(for example) or we have decided that the rugby series was not profitable for us and decided stop developing rugby games. C'mon Peter the rugby community deserves a little MOORE than that!!! Inform us whats going on.

I guess that Mr. Miagi is on vacation since the blog hasn't been updated during the month of May. Mr. Moore was on TV this weekend playing Mr. Miagi in The Karate Kid. It might have been the second or third movie but I didn't stay on it long enough to care.

It's kind of interesting that the costs for EA doubled during the year that PC games weren't made. They weren't made by EA Sports. I don't think it is good to completely abandon the traditional method of distributing games. I would like to see the option of having the game available via packaged and online. The main thing is that there needs to be piracy controls.

Peter Moore cited support costs in the referenced interview. Let's get this straight. Support costs will immidiately drop to zero because of online distributiion. I guess that EA Sports will not have anyone answering phone or e-mail problems after the magical jump to online-only distribution. I will be purchasing Tiger Woods 2010 for the 360 platform if Tiger Woods PC is online-only. I prefer to have a physical disc in hand. Translation for Peter Moore. EA Sports will lose a PC gamer because of this practice. Online-only distribution will result in sales that are lower than the traditional methods. Spore sold over 2 million copies and the majority of that came from packaged goods. It was a kick-a$$ game with an online component which enhanced the gameplay experience. It was not necessary to be online to play the game. I know because I had internet problems during that period.

The 360 and PS3 distribution methods are extremely similar to the old way of distributing games. The problem is the piracy. Online verification is the only way to combat this. Make users connect to the internet to activate the game.

It would be nice if Peter Moore would address the issues directly to this forum. Nobody said that you have to give away EA's top secrets plans in the process. Speak to us the way you have speaking to the media.

The PC gamers are not going away the way you want us to. This edition of the blog has gone way off-topic but that's OK because it was a boring topic to begin with. Actually showing us how this technology will used in the football games would be more effective. It is impressive to see it in action but there is only so much you can about it.

I thought you might find this interesting. It's a quote from EA's earnings call by John Pleasants, EA's Chief Operating Officer and President - Global Publishing.

"In terms of distribution, with the way we look at a lot of what’s happening in the future is we’ve got probably about a billion PCs that are out there in the world. There’s probably over a billion flash installs that are out there. Very rapidly, the PC is becoming the largest gaming platform in the world -- just not in a packaged good format. And as you look at what that means in terms of distribution of product, we think it’s incredibly exciting because it’s going to open up the market to new demographics, new countries, and new types of game play and again, as John emphasized, we’ve been investing in that for years now and this is the year where we turn to profitability and start putting the pedal down, so we remain aggressive and bullish in that area. "

I can see how some might be turned off by offering an online only version of a title. Peter, you say that the disc sales aren't working for you well how about this suggestion?:

You sell the pc title(s) online in whichever way you choose and when purchasing a title you say for an extra $5 or so, for those interested, you can purchase a copy of that title on a cd/dvd for backup/restoring purposes. The extra charge would cover shipping & handling, cd/dvd costs. You would only have to create the cd/dvd's as needed while still selling the pc titles online. And if you're still worried about piracy, copyprotect the cd/dvd so it can't be copied.

Remember Peter, while there are those who buy online, there may those who prefer not to and do not like to give out their credit card and other info. So when you are coming up with ways to offer your pc titles you need to think about that as well. And saying they're out of luck is not, in my opinion, good business sense.

We can be full of good ideas Peter. You just have to want to hear them.

The college basketball game produced by 2K Sports was a superior product and latest edition of March Madness/NCAA Basketball proved that EA Sports is truly not listening to their players. It had the ability to coach a game and it also had a true career mode with the ability to hire your own staff. We have asking for that for at least a year in the college football and basketball games but yet EA Sports is not listening. They must be following their leader who routinely doesn't listen. There have been a number of issues brought up on this blog and Peter Moore has responded to less than 1% of the questions asked of him.

If EA could just hire the person in charge of 2K Sports then maybe some better games would come out. Notice that I didn't say that the games have been bad. They just could be better.

I am currently playing the 09 360 version of Tiger Woods and experience is about the same as the PC version. Considering that EA Sports is thinking about making this available online only then I just might purchase the 360 version again. If I change hard drives on my PC then I will have to go through the download process once again.

It will be interesting to see when we get this information. Will we see a new year before this information comes out? I would venture to say yes based upon the way EA Sports is communicating with us on this subject.
