You are right on target. Peter Moore hasn't been exactly racing to deny these reports so there must be some truth to them.

re: Off to MI6

Great news for PC gamers.

EA Sports must be working on PC titles since they haven't denied that they are working on these titles. Notice, that Mr. Moore has denied that a Cricket title is in the works so PC titles must be on the way since he hasn't denied these reports. We learned from the game announcements edition of this blog that titles can appear out of nowhere so that must be the way that they are handling the PC games.

Of course, Peter Moore could end all speculation/rumors by simply addressing the questions that have been asked of him on this blog for several months now.

I wish that this blog had a counter for topics and for blogger questions/topic. How many people have asked about the PC platform? We may come accross as being mean with our questions/comments but keep in mind how times we have asked for information only to tune into the next edition of the blog and find that our question is not being addressed.

PC games are coming since EA Sports hasn't said that they aren't.

re: Off to MI6

This is the only way i've found to communicate somehow with EA Sports, so here goes: would you ever consider making a field hockey game for xbox/playstation/pc? Its just that I think people underestimate the field hockey market, and i think it would boost the advertisement for the sport if a game was made. Hockey is a fun, fast-paced game and I think it would be brilliant as a video game, as do many other people: see www.fieldhockeyforum.com/index.php

Just as a bit of fun i've made up some basic plans for the game based mostly on fifa controls, if you'd like to see them i can probably send them somehow. Anyway, i know this is a long shot but thanks for taking the time to read this,

yours, Benji Horwell

re: Off to MI6

Just for the record Peter Moore has discussed his lack of communications skills here on this blog so it is fair game. I don't consider it a personal attack.

Peter Moore did address the Cricket issue.

Communications are much improved but I am curious why nobody has responded to comments left on the staff page for NCAA 2010. Maybe I am wrong but show me proof that EA Sports have actually responded to questions on this board in the last few months.

www.easportsworld.com/.../51

Sounds like the EA Sports employees are taking communications lessons from Peter Moore who is the master of dodging questions.

The problem with all of this is we get the same corporate bs that everybody hates. Stop reading the press releases and communicate with us. Mentioning that EA Sports might do another PC game in the future wouldn't be the end of the world. Nobody said that you have to stick to this plan.

re: Off to MI6

Obviously there are some newcomers to this blogs who believe that Peter Moore will actually address the PC situation during this decade. Raczilla was being to come over but it was obvious that Peter Moore sent with a script of what to say. I would venture to say that was Peter Moore logging in a Raczilla.

How times has Peter or his staff threatened employees with punishment if they don't speak the company line? Moore won't ever admit to this but you can bet that this goes on behind the scenes.

Nobody here is slamming anybody. We want Peter Moore to tell us to our face that Tiger Woods 2010 will not be available for the PC. We know that it is not coming this year but it would be nice if Peter had the guts to communicate to the bloggers who have been asking about this game during the last couple of months. Ignoring the question has traditionally been the Peter Moore way but as you can see the questions are not going away.

The communications process has improved over the last year but there is room for improvement. The questions about the PC didn't show up overnight and they will not go away until they are addressed to our satisfaction. We are customers and we speak with our money. EA Sports is currently losing at one Tiger Woods 2010 sale because I am unwilling to play this game on the consoles. I have money invested in my PC and I hope to be able to play an updated golf game on it in the future.

The PC platform may be off the table for this year but it would be nice for the President of EA Sports to actually address the issue when he is asked about it on multiple occassions. I guess we can ignore him panhandling once EA decides to get a real President to run EA Sports.

re: Off to MI6

If the PC Sports franchise is indeed off the table this year then WHY did Peter Moore have to mislead us by stating otherwise several months ago? And why couldn't he own up to his statement true or not? Not bashing him, just trying to understand if he did, why the need to mislead us like that? All we wanted was respect and honesty from him and doing something like that does not make him look good and further disrepects us.

re: Off to MI6

I always wondered why they couldn't release Tiger Woods to coincide with The Masters? Wouldn't that be a good time as The Masters start getting fans interested in the upcoming golf season? Why not have some kind of dlc package that would allow fans who are interested to play along with The Masters or the Open or any other tournement to see how they do along with their favorite player? Wouldn't that generate some more interest in the game?

I'm taking a "I'll believe it when I see it" approach towards the launching of the PC titles. It's mid April and we can't even be told if they are coming back this year or not. Peter's silence and being told to "wait until we have all of our boxes checked" doesn't instill much confidence in that. I wanted to be optimistic and have some hope that we PC Gamers could have Madden, Tiger and other pc titles back but Peter and EAS make that difficult to do.

I hope I'm wrong and they do come back this year but until then...

.

re: Off to MI6

aggiefan,

I think it's pretty clear the PC sports franchise is off the table this year. Believe me, I'm as ticked off as you are, only from a Madden perspective. I've been maintaining an online franchise for the past 5+ years (and it's starting to get a bit stale). I'd love to have an alternative, but right now nothing on a console comes close.

Regarding the feedback of Peter, Rac, and others... They do read these blogs. Take a look at the Cricket issue, Peter has specifically addressed it a number of times, both directly and indirectly in posts such as the "Game Announcements." Rac was being kind enough to check in here as he checks in at Operation Sports, the InsideBlog, Twitter, etc... The community feedback and input loop is light years ahead of where it was in the past. We are being heard, but right now, we are not being supported and that's the big difference. EA is still a company that has to cater to shareholders and the bottom line. I'm sure plenty of analysis went into dropping the platform for a number of financially sound reasons (see also Nintendo DS). With the economy being what it is, the announced layoffs from Tiburon, etc... It's not surprising that this was the case. Do I think EA was planning on going back to the PC this year? Maybe early last year at the start of the development cycle, but things change.

It's one thing to offer feedback, criticize, or query, it's another to attack personally. This blog gives us insight to Peter Moore in a position we, the community have never really had before. Slamming them about answering your questions or being idiots or whatever won't get you far.

I would expect an update on the future of the platform at some point, and that info won't come until the time is right. Peter, RAC and the rest of the community leaders know how the PC community feels. Just as they know how passionate the Cricket group is. It doesn't change the fact that they are held liable, both by the company, shareholders, NDAs, etc... Give it time, I'm sure it will be addressed, whether we like how it is or not is another story. I hope they look to people like us for feedback in rebooting the platform as much as they have been drawing on other members of the community. Take a look at the Madden Community Feedback Day if you want an example of how serious they are taking constructive feedback in their development cycles. I believe the same can be said for the NBA Live and NCAA crews as well.

re: Off to MI6

I think that EA Sports needs to work on their safety record. Poor Raczilla is sticking in his hand into a bee hive. The President of EA Sports was negligent in his communication and thus created the bee hive.

Raczilla is the expert so I would like to like ask why Peter Moore failed to answer the first 50 questions posted to this blog about PC gaming. Specifically Tiger Woods 2010 for the PC. This issue didn't come up overnight. Raczilla's comments and Peter Moore's comments indidicate that Peter Moore truly doesn't read ANY of the comments listed here or on other editions of this blog. Peter Moore may not be available today to answer the question but he has been able to update his blog on a semi-regular basis and has not addressed this particular topic despite being asked repeatedly about it.

On to the issue at the hand. Peter Moore and others need to stop treating the EA Sports customers as if they were idiots. Tiger Woods 2010 launches two months from yesterday. You are telling me that EA Sports doesn't know what platform this game is coming out on. I guess that we are supposed to believe that the PC version of this game willl come out of nowhere and be available on launch date. At least have the guts to confront the bloggers here and tell us that the game will not come out this. I also hold out hope that this title could launch at old launch which was in September until this year. I will not have a problem with the game coming for the PC months later. Clean it up and make it worth buying. Make this a game that is talked about around the watercoolers.

I am curious why Peter Moore or other representatives can't discuss some of the methods that they will potentially use to reset the PC platform. None of this information guarantees that you have to do that method.

I can't accept EA Sports not producing Tiger Woods 2010 for the PC but at least have the guts to confront bloggers when they ask questions about this product.

Peter - The picking and choosing of comments to respond to isn't working so it might be time to reset your communications skills once again. Stop hiding behind excuses and address the topics listed here in comments section of your blog.

We are persistent and dedicated PC fans. We refuse to apologize for that and we will continue to hold you accountable when information is requested.

Thanks for the response. I understand that your not ready to give detailed information about the pc titles but the question that is being asked is: Will the pc titles return this year or not? Since Peter made his statement about them months ago he, in my opinon, opened the door, so to speak. So why can't that queston be answered?

Thanks.

I'm sure some of you have seen me drop by the comments here from time to time. I'm the community manager at the Tiburon studio for both the Madden NFL and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR franchises. While Peter's schedule doesn't allow him to jump into the comments and get into a back and forth discussion about some of these issues, he does read the comments and is aware of all of your concerns around cricket and our plans for the PC sports titles.

Peter did touch on his approach for making product announcements a few posts back, so you you have a look at that if you haven't already. itsinthegame.ea.com/.../game-announcements.aspx

Unfortunately we're not at a point yet where we can give you detailed information about our plans for some of the PC titles you're asking about. As Peter mentions in his post, there are a number boxes that have to be checked before we make a product announcement. A lot of care goes into making sure the right decisions are made and that we're able to deliver on exactly what it is we announce to our fans.

We hear our PC fans and understand how tough it is to wait it out right now while we go through the process of making sure we're able to provide a good experience for all of you. We'll be just as excited as you at the point where we're able to share our plans with some of the great PC communities such as football-freaks.com. We know that PC fans are some of the most dedicated sports gamers out there, and that you deserve a great product that you can enjoy.

Anyway, I apologize for the rambling, but I do want all of you to know that we're committed to doing the right things for our PC fans, even if we're not able to share details just yet. I know that as soon as we're able, Peter will reach out to all of the PC community to share with you the direction we're headed.

As always, keep telling us what you think and what you'd like to hear in the blog.

Thanks,

-raczilla

Peter Moore - dodges questions he doesn't feel like answering

Peter Moore - makes up excuses for why he won't answer questions

That was a fast round of word association.

I understand the concept of corporate endorsements and how that can affect game announcements. How is this affecting the PC games question? Is Peter scared that he might tick off a vendor such as Steam by circulating the ideas that they have been working on? I wouldn't work with those people again if they got ticked off at me for communicating with my bloggers. The vendors should be glad to get the business from EA Sports and not get their panties in a wad when somethng doesn't go right.

Sadly, the next edition of blog will probably consist of how many times the Liverpool soccer team has played. It would be very shocking if the next edition of this blog actually pertained to comments being raised here.
