its obvious that the only people that dont like fifa09 who like football games are morons who cant play it right..!!

fifa09 is simply the most realistic football game ever made....its a NEXT gen game, there will always be people that are left behind that dont understand....

Sports Games are boring and unimaginative (they have to be, when they're based so strictly on reality). So even when they're extremely well done and have a few new innovations or improvements they will never be as groundbreaking or creative as games in other genres. Thats just my objective opinion, but it's 100% true.

Im an avid gamer and play every genre i happen to love fifa 09 among others. Fifa 09 is good enough to be in the list so it should be. Fifa 09 is part of a franchise which changes each year it is not the same game as fifa 08,07 etc.

Hey I'm a loyal EA fifa player for years now- but i'm upset aobu tthe fact that Peter Moore is more upset aobut the fatc that his game did not get a mention in a list of games- read the comments Moore. for one minimal inovation from year to year- more of the same- but more importantly HOW DO YOU EXPECT FIFA 09 TO BE RATE DONE OF THE BEST GAME SOF THE YEAR WHEN IT HAS A A GLITCH THAT BASICALLY PREVENTS PLAYERS FROM COMPLETING THEIR CAREER MODES- this just happened to me recently, and come to find out that this has happened to many players- when it happened to me- I actually thought it was my disc, so I went out and bought a brand new copy of FIFA 09, poppe dit in my xbox and same glitch, carrer mode freezes while simulatiing other results- form reading other blogs- the bug seemes to appear when playing with a English team in career mode- NOW HOW TE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN??? A GLITCH IN CAREER MODE- WITHIN THE BIGGEST LEAGUE IN TH EWORLD JUST ABOUT- AND WHAT'S WORST IS THAT MANY PEOPEL HAVE COMPLAIEND TO EA AND STILL NO FIX FOR IT- INSTEAD THEY TRY TO SAY THAT IT'S A DISC OR CONSOLE PROBLEM- BS-

Just because you have millions of dollars to throw at a game doesn't mean it is great. Truth be told, I don't think EA has put out a game worth recognition since SSX Tricky or NBA Street.

Unfortunately, EA has been on Autopilot for the last half a decade and continues to put out games (Sports or otherwise) that are overwhelmingly "meh". Sure, you can sell 10 million copies of Madden and NCAA 20XX to the same people that bought your previous game, and sure, that business model has yet to fail, but seriously consider what you are offering. A re-skinned copy of the previous years games with a few new features that usually mean little to nothing for 60 dollars. If you seriously expect something like that to win an award, you need a serious reality check. Just because it sells doesn't mean it's great. You don't need to look much further than the countless shovelware titles of the Wii to see that, or if you prefer, the numerous re-hashed titles on the Xbox360 (Halo 2 for example...). I'd poke fun at the PS3's less then spectacular lineup as well but that's just too easy.

Point is, you made FIFA 09 something along the lines of decent. It's still not innovative and it's still doesn't bring anything to the table that the hardcore audience is going to drool over. I give you credit in that I believe that your team seriously refined it, but that doesn't score a lot of points as the baseline formula isn't that outstanding.
