English isn't exactly my first language so forgive me if my way of wording things might sound a little abrupt however Mr.Moore I would expect such an experienced businessmann to be a little less naive when it comes to singling out which elements make a game a killer app.

The answer you've been looking for is in fact rather apparent to the eyes of those who've been enjoying the japanese football games production since the Super Famicom days (do KCET's Perfect/Fighting Eleven, Epoch's Excite Stage, Sega's Victory Goal, KCEO/Major A's Perfect Striker and Konami's Winning Eleven ring a bell?); what sells socc...er, football games in japans are the following features:

- J.League license (which should entail J1, J2 and possibly the Emperor's Cup);

- JFA (Japan Football Association) license

- lifelike players' characterization (which includes their physical and facial features, customized animations for the most famous players - "Bomber" Matsuda, Okano "Yajin" Masayuki, Miura "the King" Kazu, Ogasawara Mitsuo, Yasuhito Endo, Takahara Naohiro, Juninho, Edmilson, Naohiro Ishikawa, Kawaguchi Yoshikatsu and so forth - and strong individuality), something in which FIFA has been lacking as of late, no matter how you slice it, look at Konami's J.League Winning Eleven 2009 Club Championship on PS2 (yep, Playstation 2) for reference;

- Broadcast-style Presentation (FIFA 10 cutscenes are awkward to say the least and the highlights direction clumsy as heck);

- a Japanese commentator who knows what he's doing (hire NHK's Jon Kabira already);

- J.pop. Make the whole soundtrack just J.Pop.

- japanese football fans are fond of their football-related memories: put some historical teams and competitions inside your game (the "98 and 2002 national teams, Ruy Ramos and Kazu's Yomiuri Verdy Kawasaki, the legendary Yokohama Flugels, Fukuda's Mitsubishi FC, "Shuske" Nakamura's Yokohama Marinos', the 1968 NT that won the bronze medal at the olympics, etc.);

- J-spirit: the way japanese fans and gamers perceive football is peculiar, it involves feelings such as passion, camaraderie and heroism in a way foreigners could hardly grasp even if they lived there for an extended period of time: you need someone who's in the know to handle the art-direction (yes, "art direction") of your game to make it look and feel like the "300" soldiers have been put inside a football simulation.

The title logo, the intro, the menus, everything has to scream "we love football, we will support our team til the dawn of time even if we're losing each and every match 0-5 and this isn't just a match, it's an epic clash of pretty-looking demi-gods who remind me of Tsubasa Ozohra, Wakabayashi Genzo and Hyuga Makoto, wearing colourful, high-tech uniforms"

FIFA10 is such a big let down - so many bugs and the online experience is awful - one would expect EA download manager to be compatible with Windows 7 but it's not. Also, FIFA10 is not even optimized to work with multi-core processors. Lazy, lazy developers..but then again, perhaps their development budget has been cut. At least give us a decent patch for the PC version - so many problems reported on various forums AND customer support but no patch - I bought FIFA10 after a 2 year absence - looks like I will have to do that again, like many others until EA Sports learns to appreciate customers who paid good money to own and enjoy the legal version of the game. If EA sports was totally European, this type of problem would not go long unpunished.

I wish I could be as a polite and gracious as Springboks but I'm afraid I can't. I'd like to trouble you with the inevitable "why?". Rugby may not be huge here in the States but it IS on the rise. The Eagles may be dead last in almost everything but they put their HEART into the sport. With Rugby being accepted back in the Olympics, the World Cup coming again, word of mouth, etc. "The Sleeping Giant's Stirring". People are learning that the last time Rugby was in the Olympics that the U.S. won-back to back and became the Superpower of the sport-hardly the case now but-the U.S. is getting BACK into it after almost 100 years on hiatus. It may not be huge here but it's only going up. All of which with little or NO publicity. Do you just not see it as a profitable game? Or is it for other reasons? I do appreciate you informing us (however hard to find) your stance on Rugby. I'd just like to know why. Thank you.

On a lighter note, we've been thrilled with the launch of FIFA in Europe and I'm obviously anxious to see how the North American launch goes next week (Nov. 20)

I hate posting off topic, but please Mr. Moore bless us hardcore boxing fans with a realistic representation of boxing. I have been boxed and played games a great deal of my life. Most boxers are not into games as they say. I'm a gamer....a sports gamer. Fight Night is the basement dwelling stepchild of the sports gaming franchises at EA.

I don't know if you have anyone do research on what the fans really want but the majority want boxing represented in it's purest form without the additives. Here's a wishlist I compiles with some other fans.(I scanned the internet too)

The whole EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer 10 Tour is a waste and a blind program to the soccer community. Why? FIFA Soccer community is not your typical game community where you have a van full of game consoles or pc desktops to play the game. Old and never been an affective marketing for showcasing a game, but just for kids to bug their parents to run to some van and play a free game. No real passion to the soccer world. Soccer is not just the world's sport for fun, but requires passion. Passion representing your team. Your a Liverpool fan, the feel, the environment, the atmosphere to be there seeing your team versus their rivals such as Everton. That's what draws every soccer fan to bring them back in the gladiator days. That's what kind of feeling you want to market, not just some pictured van of soccer players. Instead of a van, why not invite soccer fans and soccer gamers, take over a soccer pub, two big screens, two ps3, 10 chairs on each screen, so now you have turned a pub to a gaming soccer field. What's better than that, you already have the atmosphere, now it just needs to be injected to the people. It's not your typical nerdy LAN tournament but crazy soccer fans. And to give it an international market, have American players play against other country players like Mexico and Canada with them playing their represented national team. This also can be done in Europe, Asia, and Africa. A whole new look and vibe of "LAN" gaming. And if you want it to be locally marketed for US, players in the same city fight against other city playing their city league team in MLS. Ideas like this you need to clearly bring that excitement and atmosphere of soccer.

How about giving back your NFL exclusive license so that other companies can compete. This monopoly has been awful for consumers and turned out worse than expected. I'm sure another game company who values their PC customers would offer us something worthwhile.

Mr. Moore,

As a long time fan of the madden franchise, I implore you to visit the Madden NFL General Discussion forum, and you will see why so many people are dissatisfied with this years edition of Madden NFL 10. Loyal fans feel slighted by the trend of micro transactions, and pick up and play game play. That, coupled with the bugs, glitches, adn design decision of Ian Cummings, not to mention his promotional lies, have turned many gamers away, and will continue to do so!

i don't know sir, if you are a fan of NFL football, or have the amount of respect and love that Madden gamers have for the namesake, but we as a whole feel an injustice and disservice is being done to the game with it's current release. look here www.youtube.com/watch , and you will see some of the poor design decisions made by the current team, and then go to the forums and read some of the complaints. You will quickly begin to realize the the base group of consumers who purchase this product are dissatisfied with it's game play and direction. In short Madden NFL 10 is a poor representation of gameplay and presentation to what we see on Sunday, or have been expecting from a company who has had 5 years of uncontested development on this one particular property. I Thank you in advance for any effort you take, or reading this sir.

I don't suppose that you could answer why your products continue to decline in quality?

And why when something goes wrong like your servers crashing does it take 5 days to get a response from someone at EA?

What kind of responsible business would operate under these practices?
