Football Covers Revealed Next Week

Before we get out of here for the weekend, I wanted to quickly remind you of next week’s big week for our football cover announcements.  I know many of you have been enjoying reading all the latest news about both Madden NFL and NCAA Football on our Inside EA SPORTS blog, and next week we unveil the cover art for both products throughout the week.

On NCAA Football, I know many of you saw that on Wednesday we announced Erin Andrews will be a sideline reporter in NCAA Football 10.  Erin is also featured in a new mode that we will announce at a later date.  I know she’s already made her predictions on who will be on three of the four NCAA Football 10 covers, but what do you think?  She’s a Gator, so obviously she picked Percy Harvin, as well as Michael Crabtree and Matthew Stafford.  Let us know what you think and be sure to check out ESPN’s College Football Live next week.  From Monday through Thursday, one cover will be announced each day on ESPN.

Of course Friday marks the announcement of the Madden NFL 10 cover.  The countdown began a few weeks ago, and we’ll make things official on Friday.

I’ll enjoy reading your comments about selections as the week goes on, or feel free to jump into the debate now.

I’ll be in the UK next week for the first look at FIFA 10 for the European media. I’ll be sure to post back what the reactions are to this early unveil of our “other” football franchise.

Good news Peter.

Now what I really want is to see Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina on the cover of FIFA next year. (Oh, and bring them to Vancouver for a mo-cap too!)

Thanks

Paul

Peter,

PC gamers are still waiting for any response to the status of Madden 10, Tiger Woods 10, and future sports games for the PC.

Are we going to see these games released this year for PC or not. Just give us a definitive answer.

Go back one edition of this blog and read through the comments.  Raczilla commented on Tiger Woods.  It is also worth following the link that Raczilla posted on there as well.

Raczilla let the cat out of the bag the day after Peter updated the blog and said that he couldn't discuss future products they weren't ready/able to discuss.  No word on whether Peter chewed him out for it or not.

See Peter's comments below from the Madden: A True Sports Icon blog:

"A final point on the concept of communication via this blog. I cannot and will not respond to individual questions that ask for information on titles ahead of when we are ready or able to talk publicly. For the reasoning behind this, I will refer you back to my recent post regarding the complexity of announcing licensed games in development. I will also urge you to visit the individual development team blogs for the most up-to-date information on all of our franchises. This is clearly a source of frustration for at least a couple of you, but I will beg your indulgence and understanding that we are running a complex business that has a myriad of stakeholders, all of whom need to be in agreement before we discuss certain parts of our business publicly."

Seems he answered the question and bolded the reasons why he cannot announce kicensed games in development due to the complexity surrounding licensing issues.....

Okay, read the last blog. Somehow missed it.

At least he said something I guess.....

I can only hope these announcements come sooner than later....

Peter,

I am glad to hear that Tiger Woods 2010 is returning to the PC.  Actually that should be addressed to Raczilla since he broke the news.  I am hoping that this game will come to the brick and morter stores.  The reason is that if I change hard drives I will have a physical disk to put in not a download link.

The topic of the day was supposed to be covers but when blockbuster announcements come over the weekend, plans change.
