Peter Moore About Peter

Life at EA Redwood Shores

Last month, we had part 1 of a behind-the-scenes taste of life at EA Redwood Shores, where I am based full time.  Last time, we looked at our player’s lounge, sports bar and more.  This week, I wanted to take you around the rest of the campus here in Redwood Shores, including a look at the soccer pitch, basketball court and more.

 Part 1

Part 2

As I’ve mentioned, our two main development studios are just outside of Vancouver (EA Canada) and in Orlando (Tiburon), and I’ll look forward to tours of those studios at some point as well.

Coming soon: more Q&A with our producers on Tiger Woods PGA TOUR, NASCAR, NCAA Football and more.

Cheers,

Peter

Hey Peter "It's piracy's fault" Moore. I know it's been hard for you not to jump on the bandwagon and you had a lot of patience waiting all that time to do it. But, I've gotta ask you: When you were working for MS, did you guys remember, you know, "stealing" any games from PC users (or your supporting userbase who ran MS's operating system)? Flouting its potential so your "Xbox" could succeed? Don't you think maybe it's the fault of "developers" and, also, well "the company you used to work for"?

take the blanket off your face, drop your pride, ego, and money lust, and like the rest of the developers, face the fact that it is developers who have been  PC gaming up the majority of the time. Piracy kicked in later on. Just know that you kind folks were part of the problem.

It seems like you have a lot of lunch breaks at EA.  No wonder we can not get EA sports games to work online correctly.

Look like these guys just play soccer, basketball or whatever they do everything except concentrating to make a game thats why EA Sports games just have minor tweaks every year ... and people have to play same game with different name every year !!

Hey Mister Moore, somewhere in that fancy EA office... wheres the development team for Madden on the PC? It doesnt take that much time to take a video game developed on computers and then port the game to work on the PC. That "no Madden for PC" bit on April 1st was sure a funny joke.

Peter this is a great (short) article about the little things in sports games over at Operation Sports........

www.operationsports.com/feature.php

Also... this year can we please take out that dumb rocket/explosion sound when we throw a long pass on Madden? Or at least make it optional. Some of us like our games as real as real can get. That noise is annoying and too "arcady."

Since you guys arent making a PC version of Madden this year, would it be too hard to release updated rosters for 08? even if you guys wanted to charge  a few bucks for the download, im sure everyone that plays on PC would buy it, normally we get 4-5 updates a year on PC, if you guys charged 10 bucks an update you would make your money and not have to produce a new game......just a thought

Peter, just an observation of the EA Tiger Woods forums:

Forum/Category Views Messages

Tiger Woods Playstation2 131,811 2,841

Tiger Woods Playstation3 213,409 5,821

Tiger Woods XBOX 360 305,689 7,200

Tiger Woods PC 427,139 10,758

Tiger Woods Wii 125,677 1,252

Tiger Woods Handhelds 8,086 82

It's hard for me to believe there is more interest in the Handhelds than the PC version.
